Studio 2A
Year Fall 2015
Professor Ewan Branda
The course introduced us to one of the most fundamental problems of architectural design: the relationship of program and use to building form, organization, and material.
Precident study, Habitat for humanity. Has a simple steel structure however it has an interesting condition where two of the buildings are combined together.
Butler building exploration, changing of the spacing and number of beams to create interesting openings.
The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA was used as a guide for the museum. The new design has the same program.
Teatro del Mundo- Venice Italy.
This precident was modified and was combined with the museum design. It disrupted the simplicity of the long butler building design creating interesting moments in plan and in elevation with the tower appearance piercing through the roof.
